One Saturday in January 2018, we from TURN realized learning to ski from ski schools has many downsides. During the next few months we spent time at TUM asking potential customers exactly what they liked and didn't like about ski lessons. From our findings we were able to create the TURN ski teaching experience.
Gone are the days of waking up early on a holiday to make it to an expensive and crowded ski lesson. Not only will TURN allow you to become the skier of your dreams, you can improve with our ever growing TURN community. You can see how you rank compared to skiers at similar elevations and connect with like minded skiers.
In short, the TURN ski teaching experience is easy, affordable, and fun.
TURN sensors and A.I. technology are combined to create your personal ski coach. We have placed key sensors in critical areas around the ski boot so we can capture all necessary ski data. This data is then sent to an application on your IOS or Android phone and analyzed. Finally our digital ski coach provides personalized feedback on how to improve as a skier.
Hardware
We place pressure sensors in the insole of the boot to understand how your weight is positioned during a turn. Also, we place gyro and accelerometer sensors on the back of the boot so we can compare the motion of one leg with another. Yes there is a cable that connects these two devices, but we have designed it to be virtually unnoticeable while skiing.
Software
Our revolutionary App uses A.I. to analyze data collected from your run and provides personal information on how to improve. We have adopted a visual only approach to learning, so you won't have to worry about wearing headphones while skiing. Also, feel free to choose from our divers ski personalities. These coaches make sure you improve in the style of skiing you are looking to perfect. Finally, see how you are progressing overtime by looking back at your old data and by comparing your results with our ever growing community of skiers.

These are the core values at TURN. Our six person student team has a various skill sets, but together we have over 17 years of ski teaching experience. As a team we believe that everyone should have the ability to learn how to ski. We are currently taking the Advanced Business Plan Seminar and Tech Challenge at UnternehmerTUM so that our product is perfect.
